MAPS
I’ve loved maps as long as I can remember. I’m just surprised it took me so long to finally start making them for myself! If you’re a fellow map-lover, you’ve come to the right place. Whether you’re here to simply admire the view or you’re looking to get one of these babies for yourself, I hope you enjoy what you see!

I love the detail on these. Are these drawn in pen or digital? ☺️

Thank you, Simon! I did all of these digitally but I’ve done a hand drawn map before.

Was this using photoshop or something else? I was shocked that your post hasn’t had much attention because those maps are so good!

Yeah Photoshop. My WordPress is usually pretty dead. I don’t post on it often and don’t have many followers. Twitter is my main social media. People usually get a hold of me there.

That’s a shame, all of the fun people are missing.
Would you mind if I reblogged your maps post because I’m sure there are many that would love it ☺️

You are astonishingly talented, Soraya. I found your site through Simon and I love fantasy genre. I love the map of Valen but then I lived in Cairo so deserts fascinate as do djinns.

Thank you so much, Kerry! Simon was so sweet to share because I don’t have many followers here. Fantasy is my life, and Valen is for one of my books. I lived in Japan for a couple years, and I loved being overseas. Cairo sounds really cool!

Cairo is really hot! 😁 You will soon have lots of followers if you hunt around for the blogs that interest you and make comments on them. Be picky, though, there are some strange people out there…

I plan on it! I don’t have any maps to make for my own novels, now, but I’d like to do commissions, and I owe a couple favors.

Okay. I am surprised you haven’t done maps for your fantasy novel. Even if it were only for yourself. I normally don’t read fantasy novels, but I see you posted some sample chapters. I will give it a try. Nice talking to you. Best of luck in all of your creative work.

Two of the maps are for my own work. Sorry if that was confusing! Don’t read the Cursed Ashtian! It’s needs serious updating because I rewrote all the beginning. I’ll fix it now 😛

OK I fixed them.

Fix it when you can. No rush. Do you have another novel posted on your blog?

It’s fixed already. The Cursed Ashtian has three chapters posted, and Captain of Fortune has just the first chapter.

Hello Soraya, I am looking for a copy of that map that you created for the book “The Starless Crown”.
How can I get a copy?
In an interview James Rollings said that you also created a version of the books map in color.
That would be nice, but mostly I just need a copy of the map where I can see the details so I can follow along as I read the book. Thanks for your help.
